Manna of Life Ministries has been blessed with the ability to afford various programs to individuals in need. Our desire is to empower individuals and families with the ability to, over time, become self sufficient. We believe that, 'man does not live by bread alone...' and therefore make every effort to feed the spirit as well as the hunger.
Below is a summary of some of our programs and how we attempt to make a difference everywhere we go.
|
Opening from 8:00am to 10:00am, Monday through Friday, our traditional soup kitchen allows up to 40 individuals/families at-a-time to sit down in a neat, clean environment for a hot, nutritious breakfast. Blankets, clothing and other items are also available for those that need them.
Our mobile soup kitchen goes on the road to provide hungry and needy families with hot meals on Saturdays from 9:00am to 4:00pm. We travel through some of the neediest neighborhoods, taking hot meals and essential supplies (toothbrush, hair brush, shampoo, soap, lotion, feminine products, etc.) to those that need them.
|
Our traditional pantry makes food/groceries available to those needy individuals in the Castle Hill Community of the Bronx. These individuals are able to take home various items including, chicken, cereal, powdered milk, etc..
The mobile pantry delivers (to individual's homes) similarly packaged groceries to families at the verge of homelessness, or to those that are not able to meet their financial obligations for whatever reason. Manna of Life Ministries also provides these individuals with furniture, living essentials, Bibles, and particularly, crisis intervention outreach.

The Life Skills Program targets individuals currently in drug programs. We work towards assisting them with their transition into the workforce. The overall Life Skills Program covers nutrition, writing and grammar, using money effectively (including charge cards), checkbook payments/balancing skills, etc.. Most importantly we attempt to instill a sense of responsibility, motivation and success in each person we reach out to.
|
The Outreach Program is the way Manna of Life Ministries delivers theater to those who need their spirits uplifted. Working with the Saratoga Family Inn and Springfield Family Inn, Manna of Life Ministries delivers productions which include skits, clowns and face painting, live musical presentations, DJ music and dancing, etc.. These productions go on throughout the year but in particular during the holidays, when homeless individuals can be filled with desperation.
