Thanks to our volunteers and generous donations from our contributers Manna was able to hand out more than 200 dinners on the streets and shelters in N.Y.C, deliver 1350 pounds of turkeys and all the trimminings to over 85 families.

Thanksgiving, from beginning to end, had a message and felt as though scripted by the author of, ‘What a Wonderful Life’ or, ‘A Christmas Carol.’ The first person we met looked shocked to see a caravan of people in cars and vans. I told her she must be pretty important to God when over thirty people would take time to visit her. The next thing I know she’s excepting Jesus as her Lord and Savior.
The first shelter we went to we fed everyone then prayed in the back room to respect the rules of the shelter. We had the residents pray and the blessings poured down in a way that wouldn’t have happened the same way if I or the volunteers would have prayed. We packed up and moved to the next location; we were at a family shelter mostly women and children. I tried to remember it was Thanksgiving. I saw a women pass me going towards the shelter. She looked like she was carrying the world on her shoulders pushing her baby in a stroller. I asked her if she would like a turkey dinner with all the trimmings. She looked at me with her swollen eyes from crying and said no. I couldn’t let her go by without at least attempting some kind of words of hope. I reached out and held her shoulder, she began to cry. I called some sisters over and they prayed with her. She never accepted the turkey dinner but she looked like God had lifted all her burdens.
The last episode in feeding the homeless with Manna came when someone called me over to speak to a couple with a young child. The little boy about six years old looked up at me with a confidence that I would be able to help him and his family. I will never forget that little face. I’ve been doing this for fourteen years and it never gets easy. The Manna tag line reads, ‘Bringing Hope to the Homeless.’ My hope is in Jesus Christ. I have to believe that what’s impossible for me is possible for God. There is a happy ending, the father asked for prayer and I believe by faith that the look of faith when that child looked up at me will move mountains.
The sequel to this day will bring a miracle. Stay tuned and pray for this family and many others at shelters across this country and the world.

Manna of Life Ministries would like to extend a sincere word of gratitude to The NYC Transit Authority Iron Workers of Tiffany Shop for this years Food Drive. The donations were instrumental in allowing us to meet our expectations of feeding the homeless and hungry in the South Bronx area. All of the food was distributed and greatly appre ciated by our clients.
Thank you all and may God bless you for giving to those most needy in our communities. Special recognition must go out to Steve Burnett, Vincent Francis and Ganesh Punsammy. Thank you for taking the initiative and allowing the Tiffany Shop Food Drive become a reality and such a success; it could not have come at a better time.
